Celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day with Kimberwalli

On the 5th of August 2023, Kimberwalli celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day with an extraordinary community event on Darug land. Located in the heart of Western Sydney, the Aboriginal Centre became a hub of joy, cultural pride, and unity.

STG Events was honoured to participate in this event, showing our support for the vital role of culture, family, and community in the lives of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child.

A Day Filled with Excitement: Celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day

Local preschools gathered at Kimberwalli, and the air was filled with children’s laughter. They enjoyed a PlaySchool live concert, spirited performances, face painting, and other engaging activities. It was a day of fun, connection, and appreciation for everyone present.

Our Involvement in the Children’s Day Celebration

Beyond our usual responsibilities, we set up the stage, speakers, lighting, and fencing, and even took extra steps to ensure a satisfying experience for our client during this special Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day celebration.

The Deputy Premier, Londonderry MP, Minister for Education & Early Learning, and Minister for Western Sydney shared their thoughts: “For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day last week, Kimberwalli hosted a free community event on Darug land for the local preschools. Kids enjoyed a PlaySchool live concert, performances, face painting, and activities. It was great to chat with my dear friend Uncle Greg, parents, carers, and all the children. Children’s Day is an opportunity for us to show our support and learn about the crucial impact that culture, family, and community play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child. Thank you Kimberwalli for all the work you do to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families in western Sydney.”

A Magical Experience on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day

The event organiser described the event as ‘absolute magical.’ Their review, ‘Thanks STG Events, the event was absolute magical,’ expressed their satisfaction and pride in what we achieved together.
